What's New

The big new feature is of course sorting but there are other exciting new features:

- Sorting the entire file or selected region.
- Rapidly add a value or values from the clipboard with the new cell fill paste.
- Select a continuous block of rows or columns using Shift+Click.
- Quickly jump to the top most, bottom most, left and right most cells using Ctrl+Arrow keys.
- Quickly select items from the active cell to the top, bottom, left and right most cells using Ctrl+Shift+Arrow keys.
- Move a row up or down using Ctrl+Alt+Up and Down arrow keys.
- Move a column left or right using Ctrl+Alt+Left and Right arrow keys.

Now for the bad news. Unfortunately Unicode support is still not in place yet. It is taking more time than expected. Work continues on this commonly requested feature and it will be available soon.

NEWS: Website Consolidation

Yesterday the SMTP Diagnostics and Killink CSV product websites were consolidated into the White Peak Software website.

How does this affect you? Basically it doesn't. SMTPDiagnostics.com and Killink.com will work with your web browser. The only difference is when you surf to one of the product websites your web browser will redirect automatically to the product web page found at www.WhitePeakSoftware.com. Unless you pay attention to the URL in the browser's address bar you will not notice the consolidation.

White Peak Software announces the release and immediate availability of Killink CSV 1.0, a new type of editor for delimited text.

Editing delimited text files can be a painful and ugly experience with a standard text editor such as NotePad. Data can look scattered, almost random. Killink CSV gives you a clear view of your data through its spreadsheet-like editor designed specifically for delimited text files.

Killink CSV supports any character delimited text file including CSV and tab delimited text files. Support for any delimiter character type is provided through custom files types. With custom file types, Killink CSV uses the delimiter character type of your choosing. Have a pipe delimited file? Simply define a custom file type for the pipe (|) character and you have instant editing.

Need to convert a delimited text file from one delimiter type to other? Killink CSV accomplishes this without the need for custom scripts or programming. Simply open the file to be converted and save it as a new file type. The new file will have the desired delimiter character type.

White Peak Software is preparing for the first release of Killink, a CSV editor, and we're looking for individuals to help test the program before the official release.

Killink is a spreadsheet-like editor for editing, printing, and working with delimiter value files such as tab delimiter value text files and comma separated value files.

NEWS: White Peak Software Provides Automated Build Process

White Peak Software implemented an automated build process for Long Island based AmeriCorp. The build process makes use of VMware to provide a clean build environment each time it is run and a scheduled task is configured to run the build process multiple times per day. NAnt is used to retrieve the latest source code from the CVS repository and to build the multiple .NET assemblies, WinForm and web-based applications. Also, a test database is built and unit test are executed during the build process to ensure the quality of the applications prior to more formal QA review. Email notifications are sent out upon completion of the build process to report the success or failure of the build and the build log is posted to an internal web site.

"White Peak Software has automated build processes for other customers as well," says Kirby Turner, President of White Peak Software, "and we implement automated build processes for each of our internal and custom software projects." Recently White Peak Software has started making use of FinalBuilder as one of the tools used to automate build processes, which has made it possible to setup build processes in a shorter amount of time.
